And I’m singin’ in the rain…

Finally!
Although I’d like to write about how happy I am about the coming of the rains.
Or how I absolutely love the smells and the sights.
Instead there’s a very strange observation that I made today.
As I was getting back from a late-night/early-morning nibble nearby, I saw this bunch of cows standing under the canopy provided by a tree. It wasn’t raining particularly heavily, but the water around the place hinted to it having been otherwise sometime back.
Now this is very strange for me.
I am a firm believer that cows; as with other animals of the animal kingdom are much like me. They enjoy the refreshment that the rain provides. And also that their thick hide would make them impervious to the cold.
But I was surprised to know that they were remarkably civilized and knew that they’d be scolded at home for not having waited under a shelter until the rain abated.
They would also be scolded for being up and about at four thirty in the morning, but that’s another matter altogether.
That also brought me to another argument I had earlier in the day. On how the domestication of animals has crippled their natural abilities and tendencies.
But that for some other day.
For now, the cows are waiting for the rain to pause.
The birds are chirping as I write this, and it is very likely that they have a tough day ahead, flying in the rain.
Meanwhile, life goes on.
