Electronically Challenged

Read something that I have always clamoured about. Especially like the last bit, about the author.

Have always believed that electronic communication is not my cup of tea. (It’s another matter that an actual cup of tea, is not, my cup of tea either.) I am incapable of staying in touch with someone. I am not entirely putting the blame on the fact that it is much easier to send someone a message today. But I think it is a major reason. I like to think that things I do or say have some worth. All that is lost in the form of instantaneous and severely mauled communication. I am fairly certain that I could have, been more responsive to a few letters than I am to a gazillion e-mails. And I am even more certain that I would have enjoyed the process of ocassional and comprehensive communication through letters.

And then there is the question of language. Dsgstng. To say the least. Why!? T-9 is such an incredible invention. Why add another layer of complexity to the already incredibe English language!? And as is the most important point of the article , modern communication has no subtelty. As it is words are barely capable of conveying the continuous range of emotion; to compound it people limit the words themselves to the status of currency! How repulsive can crass pop culture get!

Am waiting for the return of a classicism that I can atleast be a part of. Waiting for the ridiculous present to get rid of itself.

Current state — Ah.. nevermind.

Currently listening to — The distant sound of decent music after HipHop fades.

Hint — HipHop is not music!
