Morning Blues

From yesterday. But these put a smile on my face. One of the QBS DJs with a fake British accent was running through a section on country songs in a wake-up-Doha style program. The first song that put a smile on my face was this:
But there’s booze in the blender,
And soon it will render,
That frozen concoction that helps me hang on.
Wasted away again in Margaritaville
Searchin’ for my lost shaker of salt.
Some people claim that there’s a woman to blame,
But I know, it’s my own damn fault.
Yes, and some people claim that there’s a woman to blame,
And I know it’s my own damn fault.
— Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville”
Not a very well-known song, but I find that it makes me want to get a drink.
Next up;
Freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to loose,
Nothin’ don’t mean nothin’ hon’ if it ain’t free, no no,
And feelin’ good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues,
You know, feelin’ good was good enough for me,
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee.
— Janis Joplin’s version of Kris Kristofferson’s “Me & Bobby McGee”
And then when a friend saw my status message on messenger, she promptly exercised her new found skills and came up with this:
Bolli on the oil rig
Drilling for some oil
Then there’s a bang and
And the sea begins to boil
Aaah cries bolli
We’re going to spill gas
No cries the rig incharge
Plug it with his ass
— Chitra’s version of “Piggy on the Railway”
Some mornings.
And some days.
Better than none.
Loved watching Germany beat England. Am shocked that everybody focuses on English football. It’s all relative to that! Nobody even talked about how injury affected the German team was. Pathetic!
And it’s about time, this blog had an entry with this title.
